Indian restaurants run on heroics, spreadsheets, WhatsApp threads, and the owner's memory. We think the software should do the remembering, so the people can cook and serve.

Most restaurant software was built for a world of reliable internet and a full-time accountant. India isn't that world. Here, the connection drops mid-rush, staff turn over, GST filing looms every month, and margins hide in wastage and mispriced dishes.

So we built CountStand the other way around: offline-first, so billing never stops; AI-native, so the system finds the money and tells you what to do; and compliance-native, so GST and FSSAI are handled quietly in the background.

What's actually built, today

"AI-native restaurant OS" is a claim; here is the substance behind it. CountStand today runs offline-first billing with KOT and a kitchen display; a table floor with reservations; recipe-linked inventory that deducts stock as dishes sell and flags variance that looks like theft; purchases and supplier management; customer profiles with loyalty; staff roles and audit trails; day-close settlements that reconcile cash, cards and UPI; and a GST engine that computes CGST/SGST in integer paise and exports GSTR-1 in one click.

Around the core: a WhatsApp-first setup flow (restaurant name + menu photo → working login), a customer web storefront with QR ordering and order tracking, and an autonomous AI manager that reads each day's sales, stock and staffing and sends owners a morning briefing with the rupees attached, draft purchase orders, variance alerts, menu-engineering calls.

The engineering is the quiet part of the trust story: every money value is integer paise (no floating-point rupees, ever), every tenant's data is isolated at the database layer with row-level security, every mutating action is a permissioned, audited command, and the test suites run green before anything ships. Swiggy/Zomato order intake is on the roadmap and marked "coming soon" everywhere it appears; we only promise what ships today.
