Tarun is the founder of CountStand, the agentic AI restaurant OS for India. He builds the product end to end — the offline-first billing core, the kitchen and inventory systems, the GST engine, and the autonomous AI manager that watches the numbers and drafts the day’s decisions for the owner’s approval.
CountStand exists because of a stubborn observation: Indian restaurants run on some of the hardest operating conditions in world hospitality — patchy networks, thin margins, aggregator economics, a compliance calendar that never stops — and the software sold to them mostly records what happened instead of helping decide what happens next.
The bet behind the product is that the next restaurant platform is not a till with reports but an operator: software that reads its own numbers on a schedule, proposes the next move with the rupees attached, and — once a human approves anything that touches money — acts, with every action logged and reversible. That model, agentic and governed, is what CountStand ships.
