Refund and cancellation policy

How the 30-day trial, billing, cancelling and refunds work, including the pro-rata refund when you stop part-way through a period.

This policy explains how billing, cancellation and refunds work for CountStand subscriptions, provided by CountStand. It should be read with our Terms of Service. Subscription pricing is published on our Pricing page.

1The free trial

Both plans include a 30-day free trial with no credit card required. It begins when you redeem your invitation, not when you apply. You are not charged during the trial. If you choose not to subscribe, your paid features simply stop at the end of the trial, there is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund.

2The billing cycle

  • Paid subscriptions are billed in advance, monthly or annually, through Razorpay based on the plan you choose.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each cycle unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • Applicable taxes (e.g. GST) are added where required.

3Cancelling

  • You can cancel anytime from your account settings, or by emailing contact@countstand.com.
  • By default your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period and you are not billed again after that. If you would rather stop straight away, say so and we refund the unused part of the month pro rata (section 4).
  • You can export everything before or shortly after cancellation, from your own account, and we do not hold it back over a billing dispute. If you want the data destroyed as well as returned, ask: erasure is a separate, irreversible request, and we will make you confirm it.

4Refunds

  • Monthly plans, pro rata. Cancel part-way through a month and you choose: keep the access you have paid for until the period ends, or stop immediately and we refund the unused days pro rata, counted from the day you tell us. If you were charged in error or experienced a material service failure we could not resolve, contact us and we will review in good faith.
  • Annual plans. If you cancel within 14 days of the initial annual charge and have not made substantial use of the Service, you may request a full refund. After 14 days you may instead stop and take the unused whole months back pro rata, or keep access for the remainder of the term. One or the other, not both.
  • Refunds, where approved, are made to the original payment method via Razorpay, typically within 5–7 business days of approval.

5What is not refundable

Any one-time charges and third-party fees are non-refundable once fulfilled, except where required by law. (CountStand currently sells software subscriptions only; if hardware is ever offered, its refund and warranty terms will be published separately.)

6How to ask for a refund

Email contact@countstand.com from your registered address with your account or outlet name, and say whether you want to keep access to the end of the period or stop now and take the unused days back. We aim to answer within two working days, which is the same commitment the Terms make, and to resolve promptly.

7Chargebacks

If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us first, we can usually fix it faster than a bank dispute. Raising a chargeback without contacting us may lead to suspension while the dispute is investigated.

8Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; the “last updated” date above reflects the current version, and material changes will be notified in-product or by email.
