02In detail
Step 1: export before you give notice
While you are still a customer, export the menu with its prices and tax rates, your sales reports and copies of your GST filings, and note your contract’s notice period and renewal date. Your data is yours; it is easiest to collect while the account is open.
Step 2: the menu goes in
Send us the Petpooja export, a spreadsheet or a photo of the menu, or import a CSV yourself: it needs a name column and a price column, and uses a category column when there is one. After any import, check two things the screen warns about: anything not clearly marked non-veg arrives as veg, and a row with no tax column arrives at 5% GST. An import only adds; it never renames, reprices or deletes what is already there.
Step 3: printers, tables and staff
Add each network printer by its IP address and paper width, give the print agent its token, and set each menu item’s station. Set up the floor in one action: a zone, a prefix and a range of table numbers. Give every person their own login and PIN; a PIN shared by two people is refused.
Step 4: a week side by side
- Days 1 and 2: check every item, price and tax rate against the old menu, and print a test bill and KOT at each station.
- Days 3 and 4: take real orders on CountStand at a quiet hour, with Petpooja still running.
- Days 5 to 7: run a weekend on CountStand with Petpooja on standby, and compare each night’s close.
Step 5: go live, and keep a way back
When a weekend has closed cleanly on CountStand, make it your system of record. Keep Petpooja until its notice period ends, then cancel. Everything you put into CountStand can be exported at any time.
03Questions
Questions about switching.
It stays in Petpooja’s reports, which you export before you leave. CountStand imports the menu, not past orders.
Not if your printers are thermal printers on your network: CountStand prints to them through the print agent, and the till runs in Chrome. USB and Bluetooth printers are not supported, so plan for those.
Plan for about two weeks of calendar time, including the week side by side. Most of it is checking, not typing.
Nothing for 30 days, with no card, once you are invited. After that, Single is ₹2,999 a month per outlet, or ₹2,549 a month paid yearly.
