Every tender, recorded right

Restaurant payment software for every way India pays

Cash, card, UPI, split across two, or partly now and partly later, the counter records the money the way the guest actually hands it over, to the paise.

The short answer

CountStand records every rupee a restaurant takes in: cash, card and UPI at the counter, plus split, partial and refunded tenders. Each bill mints its own dynamic UPI QR for the exact amount, so a scan reconciles itself instead of leaving you to match a static shop code against the till. Money is held as integer paise, and the online storefront collects card and UPI through Razorpay.

What accepting every tender really means

From the cash drawer to the UPI scan, on one bill.

Cash, card and UPI on one bill

The counter takes whichever way the guest pays and stamps it on the bill, no separate cash book, no card slips reconciled by hand at close.

A dynamic QR for the exact amount

Each bill mints its own UPI QR pre-filled to the paise, so the guest pays the right figure and the payment lands matched to that order, not to a static shop code you untangle later.

Split, partial and refund handled

Part cash and part UPI, a deposit now with the balance later, or money returned, all are first-class tenders on the bill, not workarounds punched in as discounts.

Paise-exact, never rounding-drift

Every amount is stored as integer paise and the tax split always sums to the bill, so a day of transactions closes to the rupee instead of leaking a paisa at a time.

Why does a dynamic UPI QR beat the sticker on the counter?

A static shop QR is the same code for every guest, so the money arrives in your account with no idea which bill it paid. At close you are left matching UPI credits to orders by amount and guesswork, and a ₹460 that could be any of three tables becomes a reconciliation you never quite finish. The sticker takes payments; it does not tell you what they were for.

A per-bill QR carries the amount and the order with it. The guest scans a code already filled to the exact figure, pays once, and the credit lands stitched to that bill. There is nothing to match at close because the match happened at the table. Reconciliation stops being an evening chore and becomes a property of how the payment was taken in the first place.

Is CountStand a payment gateway or a bank?

No, and the distinction matters. CountStand is the software that accepts and records a payment at your counter, it decides which tender a bill was settled with, mints the QR, splits the amount and books the refund. It does not hold your money, move it between banks, or settle funds. The rupees land in your own bank account through your own UPI handle and card provider, exactly as they do today.

For orders placed on your online storefront, card and UPI are collected through Razorpay on the familiar create, verify and webhook flow, so a web payment is confirmed by the provider before the kitchen ever sees it. What CountStand owns is the record: the tender type, the exact paise, the split and the audit line. The clearing and settlement stay with the regulated players built to do them.

03 / Questions

Asked by owners like you

Which payment methods can the counter take?

Cash, card and UPI, recorded on the bill itself. Split tenders (part cash, part UPI), partial payments and refunds are all handled as proper tender types, so the settled bill reflects exactly how the guest paid.

How is the UPI QR different from my shop sticker?

The sticker is one static code for everyone, so credits arrive unlabelled. CountStand mints a fresh QR per bill, pre-filled to the exact amount, so each payment lands matched to its order and reconciliation is automatic.

Does CountStand hold or settle my money?

No. It accepts and records payments inside the POS; it is not a gateway or a bank. Funds settle to your own bank account through your UPI handle and card provider, with Razorpay collecting card and UPI on the online storefront.

Will the day’s takings tie out to the paise?

Yes. Every amount is stored as integer paise and the CGST and SGST always sum to the total GST on the bill, so a full day of cash, card and UPI closes to the rupee without rounding drift.
